Frisbee Rob 2014 Year in Review

Looking back to January 1, 2014, I knew that I would be traveling a lot for frisbee but never did I dream of just how much I would end up traveling. Between January 1 and May 15, I was home for a total of 7 days; between working in Northern Alberta on a refinery and traveling for frisbee competitions, I barely spent any time at home. As the first few months went by, I hatched a plan for a summer frisbee tour. My plan was to travel North America (mostly the US) for frisbee competitions. Rather than going for the weekend and coming home in between each event, my goal was to plan a trip that would allow me to compete every weekend in a different frisbee competition. At the time of conception, I had no idea just how big of an impact this would have on my future, my friendships and my dreams. I had a very busy 2014 aside from my summer frisbee tour so here it is, my 2014 Year in Review!

Highlights

  • Spending a week teaching frisbee and goal setting to the students at Heart Lake First Nation, Alberta
  • Teaching frisbee to a group of kids from Redwater, Alberta
  • Running frisbee workshops and talking about bullying to kids at schools in New Brunswick, Alberta and Virginia
  • Spending 6 weeks on a summer frisbee tour with Davy Whippet
  • Realizing I have the most supportive & generous friends and family (and getting to spend time with them)
  • Being published in the 2015 Guinness Book of World Records and the 2015 Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Reality Shock! book
  • Attending the IFT (International Frisbee Tournament), now in its 57th year, which is the oldest frisbee tournament in the world!
