Last night, I traveled to Black Diamond, Alberta, a small town of roughly 2,500 located SW of Calgary. The reason for my trip was to take part in the screening of the movie Bully, a documentary focused on 5 different kids who have been bullied and their stories, a few told by their parents since two of the kids took their own lives due to being bullied.
I first heard about this screening a few weeks ago after I first watched Bully on my own. I was moved by the stories and when the end credits rolled,
Phoenix was joined by Rob McLeod, a professional disc golf, 5 time Guinness World Record Holder and ambassador to talk about disc golf. Calgary has close to 10 disc golf courses, all of which are free to play except the course in Parkland, which requires you to be a resident of the community.

Desert Wind Throw was a distance competition held in the desert of Primm, Nevada from October 11-13, 2013. Featuring some of the top distance throwers including the current and former world record holders David Wiggins Jr. and Christian Sandstrom, Desert Wind Throw was a great weekend of hanging out, hucking bombs and sharing stories. Below is a day by day summary provided by Jeff Stoops, who organized this event.
On Wednesday, October 30, I was invited to be live on air for the Kraze 101.3 FM The Hit Show with Ransom, Rhyean and Matt the News in Red Deer. Along with talking about my 4 Guinness World Records, we also had some fun in the studio where I got to play the celebrity birthday game (I won 1 of the 5 guesses!) and then we headed outside where I proceeded to explode a bag of popcorn with an ultimate disc and also knock a water bottle off Matt’s head with an ultimate disc.
